“When I was living in Italy, I mostly lived alone so I literally never ate a one meal at home. I would wake up, get a croissant or pastry and a cappuccino. For lunch, I’d have a plate of pasta with Fanta or sometimes if they had meat for the lunch specials at the cafe I’d get meat. Around 6:00pm I’d go have an Aperol Spritz or two somewhere with assorted meat or bread. For dinner, I’d have meat or pasta… or both. Again, all from restaurants. Nothing home cooked. The entire time I lived there I never went over 180 pounds. Now in America I have a wife who cooks about 80% of my meals. I don’t have any pastry from restaurants and I don’t have any alcohol at all unless someone I’m eating in a group and others are drinking, which is basically never. I don’t eat pasta here because no one knows how to cook it. Yet, here, I’ve managed to put on 50 pounds in less than a year while watching what I eat. The food in America is poisoned, even if you cook it at home. The goal is to keep us fat and sick. And it’s working.” - Joye Mannarino
